Tutor & AI disclosure

How MathPro's Tutor produces guidance and what it can and cannot do.

Last updated

The Tutor in this release

The current MathPro Tutor uses built-in rules, authored content, misconception patterns, and the available learning context to offer hints, explanations, and guided steps. The normal learner interface does not call an external generative AI provider. The guest Tutor offers a small set of built-in explanations.

Optional generative architecture

MathPro contains an optional integration for rephrasing explanations, disabled by default. It is not connected to a provider in the current learner flow. If a future release enables it, its provider and data use must be disclosed. The existing integration limits provider input to sanitized lesson context and excludes learner answers, grades, notebook and group content, profile data, and account identifiers.

Assessment and grading boundaries

Tutor guidance is restricted during assessments. Optional generative rephrasing is blocked in assessment contexts. Tutor text does not determine grades, award mastery, or replace the existing evidence and scoring systems.

Use guidance thoughtfully

Built-in explanations and calculations can still contain errors or miss the intent of your question. Ask for the reasoning, check the result, and report misleading guidance. MathPro is not a substitute for a teacher, professional advice, or independent checking of important results.
